Spring Favorites

I used to have seasonal favorites segments on my blog, you know, my favorite things during that time in my life. But I stopped doing them for some reason. Maybe I stopped liking things. Regardless, I am back with new favorites and some shameless self-promotion. Whatevs.

1. Heart. As in Heart the band. My husband really likes Heart and I’d never really given them a chance so I always thought he was crazy. But I’ve been listening to them on repeat for 4 days and it’s starting to get weird. Like, I cannot stop. It’s unhealthy. I like blasting Alone in my room and pretending I’m some love-sick 80’s teenager.

2. Tumblr. If you’re bored and like looking at pictures of funny things, pretty models, and cool photography, you should check out my tumblr. I’d taken a long break from posting stuff on there but now I’m back into it and I’m lovin’ it! There is a link to it at the top of my blog where it says “My Links” or you can click HERE.

3. Candy Crush. I have a love/hate relationship with this Facebook game. It’s so addicting. I’m one of those people who will play every video game and computer game around. I love Facebook games and I’m not ashamed of it. I was a little late on the uptake with this one though. I thought I was over my love of gaming. Then, one rainy day I bought the App for my iPad and I haven’t looked back since.Candy-Crush-Saga-for-iPad-5

4. My friend’s blog. I have a friend here who’s almost in an identical situation as me–stuck in Canada, missing the states, etc. Except she’s from San Diego so she really must be feeling the pain! Her recent blog post describes both of our feelings towards Canada very well–we shouldn’t be complaining…but we still manage to do so. If you wanna check it out click HERE.

5. Long walks. I’ve been going on hour long walk/runs lately and its been really refreshing. Maybe it’s because the weather has been so nice here and it feels like spring has finally sprung. My favorite places to walk are along the ocean and through parks. Very serene and peaceful.

6. Kidz Showz. If you haven’t visited my other blog that I share with Mooselicker, what are you waiting for?! It’s chock full of everyone’s favorite memories–children’s shows! I think everyone can bond over kid’s shows, whether you hate them or you love them or you love to hate them, they’re around and they’re not going anywhere. We talk about movies, TV shows, character studies, certain episodes–the topic is endless. If you are interested in guest posting, contact either Tim or myself and we will hook you up with the deets! There’s a link in “My Links” or you can click HERE.

What are some of your favorite things this Spring?

I’m totally addicted to tumblr. It is terrible because it is so conveniently coolio on my phone. I won’t do candy crush because I’m already playing twenty million games of words and I suck it bad.
    Have you tried FlipBoard?

    • Yes! Tumblr is the best, right? Good for you for having enough will power to not Candy Crush your brains out. Haha my mom plays so much words with friends. It’s so funny.
Never tried FlipBoard! I’ll check it out!

  2. “This had nothing to do with spring.” – spoken aloud after reading this

I like spring for the same reason I like fall. There’s such a peace in the air. Summer is too hot and everyone is smiling while winter is cold and everyone is frowning. I think my favorite thing is probably planning on doing things then never doing them. By the time summer comes around I don’t care. It’s too hot.

The worst thing about Candy Crush is I see my friend playing it with his mom on Facebook. I don’t know why but it feels like they should do other things, like have an honest relationship with each other.

    • Have they ever had anything to do with the season I post them during? No. Long walks kind of have to do with spring, but not really. Spring and fall are very peaceful. Our birthdays are during the perfect point in fall too. I like summer, only because I like wearing less clothes, getting tan, and being outside. Winter is by far the worst.
Hahah it’s always so weird when parents play facebook games. It’s like, really? You have nothing else to do?

  3. Once again you pretty much love ALL the best things. Heart is amazing. When I was in highschool my first job was at Restoration Hardware (I know) and “Magic Man” constantly came on our Bose stereo there. I have really vivid memories of trying to sell nostalgic leather couches to old fat retired men while hearing that song. And oddly enough, these are good memories.

    • Yesss. Can we be best friends already?
You WOULD work at Restoration Hardware. Have you been in there lately? All of their furniture is meant for giants and I love it. It makes me feel so petite. Magic Man is so good. I think they played that in Virgin Suicides when Josh Hartnett’s character was introduced. Welp, now I know how my Heart obsession started.

    • Hahaha I love that. I used to set up other facebook accounts just so I could send myself extra lives for facebook games. All time low.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like them!

      • So, I am not the only one….I have three facebook accounts and use them for the same. All my Solitaire Blitz friends have moved on to Candy Crush Saga.

  4. Heart was popular when I was in high school. It’s like people keep discovering them so they stay perpetually hip. Magic man is awesome also crazy. Ann and Nancy are both very talented. One was thin, pretty and blonde and the other sister had dark hair, was chunky and not as attractive. It was painful to watch. It’s like you could see her issues and her struggle. 😦
I play words with Audra- she’s my gaming’ gal.
    Tim is funny.
Your tumbler is coolio. Walks are great once the weather cooperates.
    I like your seasonal posts.

    • I like Heart’s 70s stuff, but I really like their cheesy 80’s stuff too. The chunky one kind of reminds of the whole Carnie Wilson thing. It’s always sad when there’s a normal sibling and chunker. :/
Lol I like your comments on other people’s comments. Thanks about my tumblr! You’re my biggest fan! Besides myself obvs. I’ll be excited for you once you get to go on walks again. I know you like them.
      Thanks momma!

  5. Spring = Cherry Blossoms. Drinking and eating under a the Sakura tree. Watching people getting drunk.

I have stopped playing all FB games, too addictive. I still play my snoopy game though.

Oh boy I feel like a nerdette.. I don’t do FB, any games or Tumblr (although there are some awesome things over there) but I do remember Heart and really like them so does that balance things out ? As for spring, I live in Florida, one season, HOT! I miss spring ..

    • Omg you live in Florida? That’s so nice! I love the heat and I miss it! Hah Heart is awesome! I don’t blame you for not doing FB. It’s kind of annoying, but the games make it worth it! πŸ˜€

    • Haha seriously! The sun has finally come out for us this weekend. I hope it comes out for you! At least you have fun clothes to wear πŸ™‚

What I like about Spring? The fact that it’s still snowing when it’s meant to be rate hot, having a permanent job, paid holidays which as you know means mo’ money for dem bitchez.

I refused to play Candy Crush for ages and then I got to level 35 using my phone and they want me to pay money to play more of it, so that’s that game out of the window! Such a sneaky way of making money!

And sorry I’ve been neglecting Kid Showz for such a time, I plan on reading every (well, most) posts soon! And even maybe, possibly writing another! πŸ˜€

    • Nice that you have a job now…makin’ all da monie$$$.
Wait why did they make you pay? Were you doing it through facebook? I’m on level 91 and I haven’t had to pay yet! πŸ˜€
Dude, don’t worry about Kidz Showz. We’ve missed you, but don’t feel like you have to read every post! That would be exhausting. I totally want you to write a new post. When you do, remind me and we’ll make you an author, that way it will be easier for you to post.

      • Pete Howorth says:

Over here when you play it on your phone you get so far and either have to ask people on Facebook to buy you a “plane ticket” to the next lot or pay 69p!

I may be rakin in the monie£££ but I ain’t forking out for dat shiz!

      • Oh yeah well, did you ask your other friends who play to send you a ticket? You should have! I’d send you one! I love the moniesssss
