Isn’t everything cuter when you spell it with z’s? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Anyway, this is a special announcement to celebrate the opening of a special collaboration blog that Mooselicker and I have made. Well, I basically did everything and Tim said he would write some stuff. It’s really organized, I promise.
If you’ve ever mentioned a kid’s show on your blog, it’s likely that I zoomed in on that bit of information and only commented about the kid’s show and nothing else. They fascinate me. I say “kid’s shows” but I’m talking about shows that range from Blue’s Clues to Lizzie McGuire and everything in between. Kid’s movies will also be included. There is really no limit to what this blog will cover in terms of childhood shows. I’m sure you’re all super jealous that you didn’t think of it first.
I’m using this post as not only an announcement, but also as a poll of sorts. If you are interested in us covering one of your favorite shows, make sure to leave a comment so we can write about it. We have a good base of knowledge between us, so it’s likely that we’ve seen most shows from the past and present.
So go visit our new blog Kidz Showz! (There is only one post up now, but there will be lots more to come!)
Yay! I like ‘As Told by Ginger’, of course ‘Sponge Bob’, and ‘Hey Arnold’ — they’re from the early 2000s or late nineties I think, back when I was only 100 years old. Fun!
Omg I love all of those shows! I was a big fan of As Told by Ginger! What a rarity! I love that you have really good taste in kid’s shows.
Is it Christmas? Is it possible that two of my favorite bloggers are teaming up to write a blog about a prominent aspect of my life?! This is too exciting! Please, please, please do Caillou!
And can you do Arthur too? I am willing to give you enough material to last you your first year.
AND OMG I WAS JUST GOING TO SUGGEST DOUG AND THAT’S YOUR INAUGURAL POST. I’m sorry. I really need to calm the frick down.
Haha omg I love how excited you are. Dreams do come true, right? We will definitely do Caillou for sure. Tim wrote a post on Arthur a while back which was one of the things that inspired the whole blog. I don’t know if he’ll write a new one or just reblog that one. I will keep you posted! Also, yes, I called dibs on Doug because he’s the best.
Omg, I was going to say you have to do Doug too!
I suddenly feel really old. ( Do you watch the Regular Show?)
Haha that’s okay. You knew what I was talking about when I mentioned cartoon characters that I felt bad for, remember! I’m actually wayyy too old to be writing about kid’s shows, but I’ve just been a fan my whole life. I’ve never heard of the Regular Show. Is that even a real show? It sounds so regular…
laughing yes silly it is on Cartoon Network. sort of a teenager cartoon(or really immature parental units cartoon) Usually has some pretty good retro rock included in each episode..
Haha okay cool! I’ll check it out for sure. I’ve always been more of a Nickelodeon girl, so I need to brush up on my cartoon network shows!
Ahahahahaaa! Well, I AM really old. So I must be…well, nevermind.
psssht you are not THAT much older than me and well, I think our combined maturity is what, 17?
(sandee I think we need to leave the youngin’s to their fun
Lol shut up you guys are not old at all!
You know, I can’t get this one show out of my mind. Has to be from the late 80’s, maybe into the 90’s. If I remember right it was a filler show on Nickelodeon (Back when it WAS Nickelodeon) that was shown between the other shows. I think it was called “Banana Man”. Basically this dude would be on an elevator, or on the subway and someone would need help. He would then eat a banana and then save the day. Of all the shows I don’t know why that’s the one that stays with me.
I haven’t ever seen that one! Probably because I wasn’t born until 1987. But I looked it up and it seems cool. I’ll watch some more of it so I can write about it in the future!
COOL! I will indeed check it out. Aw man, so many memories from the past. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Dexter’s Laboratory, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Are You Afraid of The Dark, Animorphs, CatDog, The Magic Schoolbus and ahhh…can’t remember them all! 😀
Yes! We definitely grew up during the best cartoon years. So many good shows. It’s going to be so fun reminiscing about them…!
The only reason I know about these shows is because I was turning on the TV for you to watch them. I’m with Audra and Sandee…. but I did just think of Ren and Stimpy. That was a pretty funny show.
Ren and Stimpy was a good one for sure. Kind of twisted though. The weird shows are always the most memorable though!
I’m still a fan of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
That’s a good one. I just always wondered how a moose and a squirrel could be friends in real life though. And why was his name Bullwinkle when he wasn’t even a bull? Misleading…
I swear all I watched as a child was Alvin, The Smurfs, Scooby, and Alf. All other references fly right over my head. My own kids are allowed to watch a lot more television than I was, and the music on those shows is all ridiculously catchy. If you start watching them as “research” BEWARE…
You were an 80’s kid! Those are all good shows..except maybe Alf. I have to judge you on that one.
Have you ever watched The Backyardigans? So many catchy songs….
In the middle of the night when A2 decided she would ban sleeping – and since EB decided she was going to sleep toe-to-head in our bed, I was wandering around the house with cartoon ideas in my head. Now that it’s been 12 hours, I can only remember a couple of them:
Ducktails
Animanics
Dick Tracy cartoon (from the 60s, rerun because of the movie)
Haha I love that you were thinking about kid’s shows while you were losing sleep. I didn’t watch a lot of Ducktails, but I did watch some Animaniacs in my day. I actually know some of the Dick Tracy one too because I think my brother liked that one. I’ll have to research it!
Looking at everyone’s comments I’ve come to realize there are a million kid’s shows I forgot even existed. So many about ducks too. They must be easy to draw.
I know right? We will never run out of ideas. Yeah, tons of ducks. Were there any ducks on Arthur?
Good luck, you two!
Thanks you!
If you know it: PepperAnn!
PepperAnn had THE catchiest theme song of all time.
Omg – RIGHT?! “PepperAnn PepperAnn she’s too cool for 7th grade” (so was I as a matter of fact… um… in my cartoon world at least…)
Yesss. Such a good tune. I’m gonna have to go listen to it now…
As I said on Tim’s blog. Jelz. I wish I had this idea first!
I blame it on the three of us being equally awesome and my mind occupied by other writing projects. But still, no doubt it’ll be a success 🙂 Talk about Power Rangers and I mean the real Power Rangers, none of this Dino Thunder bollocks or whatevers out at the moment.
You can definitely be an honorary member and tell us whenever you want to write about something. You can be our number one guest poster or whatever. So glad you like it and approve of our hard work!
Yay! Once I smash NaNo I’ll definitely be up for that 😀
